Solid wood vs Plywood
18 Apr 2014

Plywood is made by slicing logs into very fine sheets, then the sheets are
glued in layers to form (mostly) four foot by eight foot sheathing.
Plywood comes in thicknesses from 1/64" up to 3/4"

Solid wood is sawn from whole logs and comes in what is called nominal
sizes, like 2x4,2x6, 2x8 and so on.
